Everyone has stress. No matter how high or low the level of their stress is, each of us does have stress. So how to deal with stress? There are two types of stress.
The first type is called "Short Term stress" and the second type is called "Long Term Stress".
How do you do to reduce short term stress?
Let me talk abit about short term stress. Short term stress occurs when you are nervous, shock, scared. For example students will tend to have stress before the exam, job interviewees also feel nervous before going to an interview room. These are called short term stress.
Once we have stress our muscles tend to tense up and so it gives bad effect to our brain as our brain's muscle will be tense up as well and we will not be able to think well or recall what we want to say or write.
So the remedy to reduce some short term stress is: individual who faces with short term stress before an exam or in a critical situation, he or she should take long inhale and exhale 3 times and put his or her palm on his or her stomach to feel that he or she inhales and exhales....It might not guarantee a 100% cure to eliminate stress all together at once but it helps individual to reduce some stress so that your body and muscles are not so tense up.
How do you deal with long term stress?
What is long term stress? "Long term stress is a stress that occurs when your value doesn't meet with what you are doing or a situation that forces you to do something that betrays or does not meet with your value".
What is the value that i am refering here? "Value in a person are: personality, preference, hobbies, passion, aspiration, ambition, conscience, etc".
People often face with long term stress when they go to work especially when they get a job that doesn't meet with their value or the job that they do not like but due to some situation like financial need a person needs to take up the job that he or she doesn't like. So he or she will have stress in the long run. Sometimes students that were force to study something that they don't like but to pursue their parents' wish or dream, it also gives the students a long term stress as well.
So to deal with long term stress, individuals who have long term stress may need to quit the job or choose to stop doing what they don't like in order to look for the job that they like or do what they like to meet with their value. Do what you like. Once you do what you like, you will do best in it, when you do best in it, the money will come.
The reference is from a face to face explanation from : Dr. Robert. R. Sorenson. from Utah state University.
